South Korean Art Student Eats $120,000 Banana Art Installation at Museum

In a bizarre incident at the Leeum Museum of Art in Seoul, South Korea, a student ate a banana that was part of an artwork installation worth $120,000 or pkr 3.4 crore. The artwork, titled "Comedian," was created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan and featured a ripe banana duct-taped to a wall.

According to reports, the art student, Noh Huyn-soo, claimed he was hungry after skipping breakfast and ate the banana. After consuming it, he proceeded to tape the banana peel back onto the wall, presumably to keep the artwork intact.

The museum authorities were left flabbergasted after the incident and quickly replaced the eaten banana with a new one. The artwork has since been restored, but the incident has raised questions about the value of contemporary art and the meaning of art in general.

The "Comedian" artwork gained notoriety in 2019 after it was sold for a whopping $120,000, sparking a debate about the worth of modern art. The recent incident in South Korea has only added fuel to the ongoing discussion, with many questioning the value of an artwork that can be consumed and replaced so easily.

The Leeum Museum of Art has not commented on the incident, but it is expected to draw attention to the museum and the artwork in question, as well as spark a wider discussion on the nature of contemporary art and its value in the art world.
